Sport and Lifestyle Facilities
- Encourage Port Macquarie-Hastings and Greater Taree councils to establish more public toilets, walking tracks, footpaths and cycleways in the electorate;
- Support local interest and public policy initiatives that encourage major family and/or children’s attractions to the area;
- Encourage policy incentives for private enterprise investment in this regard;
- Continue to pursue funding for the Port Macquarie Indoor Stadium upgrade, which would support expos, basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton, wheelchair and school sports;
- Work with the council and relevant progress and sporting associations to secure more playing fields for Lake Cathie, Bonny Hills and the Camden Haven;
- In conjunction with council and Events NSW, continue to promote the region as a location for specific ongoing annual events, such as the long course triathlon, touch football, cycling and golf tournaments as well as state and national competitions based at the Port Macquarie Indoor Stadium;
- Support the extension of the Coastal Walk and Googik Tracks to establish better health, transport and community outcomes.
